Shadow and color play are the new beauty elements
The most basic goal of makeup is to make you look good by hiding your flaws and highlighting your features. This is what Shu Uemura’s international artistic director Kakayasu Uchiide wanted the brand’s 128th mode makeup collection to deliver, along with a dreamlike look that will complement any woman.
"I was always moved by the way the Impressionists, especially Monet, used light, shadow, and
reflection to create beauty. They use soft, light colors, but the details of the painting are still discernable from a distance. This is achieved by mastering the balance of light and shadow, a key element in creating natural beauty. Throughout this collection, I had this technique in mind to create natural depth and dimension in the face with Spring-like colors," shares the young artist.
Dimensions on the right areas are achieved with different colors and textures when applied on the eyes and cheeks. Although in subtle hues, the difference is apparent, as the shading creates accents and highlights along with a mystical, feminine look through the pastel hues from this collection. Aptly called the "Mirage" collection, this makeup set highlights your natural beauty, mirroring a softer glow and fresher look that’s perfect for the summer.
Oh, and did we mention how cute the packaging is as well? Designs on the cases are reminiscent of painted brushstrokes, as the obvious inspiration for this collection are the paintings of Monet.
So have fun creating your own masterpiece with any (or all) in the latest line from one of the ost well-loved makeup brands.
