The facts of facial fillers - 3

Cosmoderm and Cosmoplast

What they are Lab-grown human collagen that fills fine lines (Cosmoderm) and deeper creases( the thicher Cosmoplast)

Time they last Up to three months
Track record Human collagen was used in the States off-label for about a decade before finally being approved in March 2003.
Biggest worry The thin texture makes for a rapid flow, so our doc needs a steady hand. Redness could last up to a wee.
Cost $300 to $800 per syringe
Bottom line Less risk for allergies compared with bovine collagen, but they’re pricey and require frequent treatments.
